Home from Home!
Crookey Cottage Bed & Breakfast is on the sunny side of the Patterdale valley, in the heart of the English Lake District, ideally located for ascents of Helvellyn, St.Sunday Crag and Place Fell.
Wainwright’s Coast to Coast walk passes within 500 yds of our door, and we’re a delightful 20 minute walk from the shores of Ullswater, regarded by many as England’s most beautiful lake. By car or bus, Windermere, Ambleside and Keswick are within 40 minutes’ journey time.
Our B&B accommodation consists of just the one spacious en-suite double room, finished to a high standard with handmade oak furniture, pure wool carpeting and a great power shower to recharge the batteries after a hard day on the fells! A selection of teas, hot chocolate and coffee is provided in your room, as well as Smart TV and DVD player with a range of DVDs.
Breakfast is served downstairs in the cosy guest lounge, with views of the famous “hole in the wall” approach to Striding Edge and Helvellyn (weather permitting!). Great coffee, locally sourced produce (including eggs from our own hens) and home-baked bread, are always on offer-yum!
If you’d rather just unwind, you can relax in our established gardens overlooking the meadows – we’re in the original farmhouse at Crookabeck, a traditional Lakeland smallholding specialising in Herdwick sheep and Angora goats.
Car parking is just outside the front door and free WiFi is available-just ask for the password when you arrive…
Our tariff for the en-suite double room is £84.00 per night.
As Patterdale gets busy in peak season and we only have the one room, we have a two-night minimum stay at weekends from March to October. Last-minute enquiries for single nights at weekends are still worth a try!
We do not have a card payment facility at Crookey Cottage. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or electronic transfer via BACS.
We regret we are unable to accommodate dogs at our Bed & Breakfast.
Just drop us an email or give us a call on 017684 82278 to check availability, or with any other queries.
